Exclusive Video Interview: We Once Again Chat With Bryan Singer

A few months ago we spoke with Bryan during the premiere of The Triangle and a question came up. Would he like to be involved with Star Trek?

Right after the Wonder Con press conference we spoke once again with Bryan. ( I have to apologize for the camera being slightly off center.)

We did speak to Bryan about the current cut of Superman Returns and the decision of bringing Brandon to San Francisco. We also revisited that interesting Star Trek question from a few months ago. While he quickly jokingly blamed me for starting a buzz around the net about him wanting to be involved on Star Trek, he did refuse to talk about it further. All he did say is that he "loves Star Trek" and talks about it all the time.

Not that my opinion is needed or cared for but here it is. If Paramount has any plans or hopes to bring back Star Trek there is only one person that can do it, Bryan Singer.

My thoughts would be that since Erik Jendresen (Band of Brothers) is already working on a possible new Star Trek film that is planned to take place during the Romulan Wars it would only make sense to have Bryan involved on the TV side.

Bryan can easily reinvigorate the franchise by bringing large ideas to television, god knows we need it.

Some believe that Star Trek needs to rest for a few years before it could come back. Not true. You just need fresh ideas and a brave executive that can realize that the franchise needs to be in the hands of people who care for Trek.

Here is a wild idea, how about an executive that is a fan and a filmmaker instead of an accountant - as it has been for a good part of twenty years.

We also touched up on Logan's Run and if The Island has had any effect on the production.
