The IESB Talks To Terence Howard...He Is Still In Talks to Be Diamondback in Luke Cage

Luke Cage is about a former gang member who is framed for a crime he didn't commit. In prison, he volunteers for a medical experiment that goes awry, giving him superstrength and bulletproof skin. Using his newfound powers, Luke Cage escapes and becomes a hero for hire.

Singleton has been attached to direct the Marvel comic book adaptation for Columbia Pictures for some time but casting has been up in the air.

Terence Howard has been rumored to play Willis Stryker, aka Diamondback, the villain.

Stryker was highly skilled with the use of knives, in both fighting and throwing. He used both conventional knives and some specially designed by Gadget. The special knives contained other weapons, such as gas, sonic attack, and explosives. Stryker was involved with a criminal Syndicate and was assisted by its agents.

Stryker sent some men after Cage and then confronted Cage himself. Diamondback's specialized knives allowed him to hold his own against Cage initially, but he ended up backing up into a skylight and falling through it. Stryker's explosive knife hit the ground a second after Stryker himself, exploding and apparently killing Stryker.

We ran into Terence in an elevator at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. We couldn't help but ask if he had heard anything regarding the Luke Cage project.

He said he had been in talks recently with John Singleton and knows that he wants him to do it but doesn't know quite yet. We should hear something very soon.

Tyrese Gibson told us last month that they are currently waiting for a second draft of the Luke Cage script and things will move from there.

Stay tuned to the IESB for further updates!
