IESB viewer, Matt, sent in the transcript from Nick Gillard's Hyperspace chat on Starwars.com,

What is the most serious injury you've ever personally sustained (or caused someone else) while working on a movie?

A broken nail once...

Will anyone get hit with a lightsaber in ep.3 like obi wan did in AOTC?

Yeah, it happens to a lot of people in Episode III.

Can you tell us anything about your own role in Episode III? Will we recognize you? Will you be facing off against a certain fallen Jedi?

I grew very long hair for it, so you may not recognize me. And yes.

Thanks for stopping in. So I was concerned about your response to Hayden being the best swordsman so far. Obi-wan beats him in Episode III. So why wouldn't Obi-wan be the best? Thank you for your time

Because winning a fight isn't necessarily about being the best at something.

What's up Nick? Thanks for Chatting with us. Will there be any more Lightsaber action during Pickups? If so, will it involve both Ewan and Hayden?

Tiny pieces with both from what I've seen.

Hi Nick! What do you work on when they aren't filming

I work on other films! A man has got to work, after all.

How many of those mock light sabers did you break during the summer filming and training?
and by you, i mean everybody flinging them around. if you have a broken one can i get one?

We've finally got a good design and only broke three.

Do we see any young padawans fighting? A set diary had mentioned combat training for a 10-year-old padawan.

Yes we do. Wait till you see Mousy.

Thanks for taking the time to chat! Does Darth Sidious use his lightsaber and if so, can you say anything about it?

He ain't got it for show.

Have you seen any of the movie yet besides the fights? If so, what do you think?

Me and Hayden have seen the first half-an-hour, and we both got excited

What's your favorite movie of 2003?

City of God.

Hey Nick and thanks for joining! Now that the final episode of SW is in post-production do you feel at all sad or was just another job?

The final day walking off the set was really sad. I've gotten over it now

Hi Nick! How long will the duel between anakin and Obi be?

It's still being edited, but it's still the longest ever. I had it at over 10 minutes and I can't see it getting any shorter than that.

Have you seen Hayden in Vader's costume ? What did you think at that moment ?

I have.

Hayden and Ewan did most of their stunts/saber moves rather than the doubles. Yes? Do the doubles have to learn every move also? from you or from Hayden others?

The doubles don't learn ANY of the lightsaber fights. It's always the actors. The doubles only do stunts that the actors can't do.

Other than star wars what was the most extensive sword duel you choreographed ?

Everyone thinks of me as a swordmaster, but I'm not. I'm a stunt coordinator. I like crashing cars. Expensive cars.

Which actors/crew members will you keep remain friends with after you're done working on Episode III?

Absolutely none of them.

What's next for you Nick?

Hopefully Tim Burton's version of Willy Wonka

Is the final duel going to be intercut between another action sequence, or does it stand on its own as the finale of the film?

In the script, it stands on its own. Whether or not it ends up that way, I don't know.

Hi Nick, couple of questions from the people at theforce.net for you.

"What's the most difficult move you have asked the actors to perform?"

"How will the fights be different from those in previous movies?"

"Have you brought in any new elements to the fights? new props, weapons, techniques?"

"What movies were you influenced by while desighing the fights for Ep3 ?"

do you think they have shown great determination and skill that will impress the hardcore star wars fans during the epic fight?

We've heard that there is a new type of sword style involved that has not been seen in any of the SW movies. Did the fighting scene(s) involving this character pan out to what was originally conceived?

Thanks for taking the time, even if you answer one of them.

Why are you asking all these questions?

hi nick, is the final dual really fast like the one with obi and maul which had really spectacular moves but wasnt't very thrilling because there was no music or does is it slower like the one with Vader and Luke in ep V which was thrilling because of the variation of Force powers being used and the unexpected moves?

It's very fast like the one with Obi and Maul, and I cut it to Fatboy Slim, and it really had something going on. It was sick, dude

Speaking of crashing cars, how do you feel about the ILM-guys having all your explosion-fun on Star Wars?

It makes me crazy!

Hey, we want to meet you here in Paris. When do you come in France to visit us ?

I'll be in France in two weeks to buy a farm (honest!)

I remember it was mentioned that you were "reprising" a role you played on ROTJ, but none of the casting lists I've seen have you on it. What did you play in Jedi?

I wasn't in ROTJ. I was too young to be in it.

Will you come to celebration 3? *please* *Bats sithly eyelashes*

If I'm not working, yes!

Hayden seems to have a great fondness and respect for you and your abilities as a stunt coordinator. Was there ever a time where you had to "lay down the law" and not allow him to do his own stunt?

I constantly have to lay down the law with that boy.

can you give us one nugget of information that we don't know to keep us SW geeks happy for the next few days?

I could, but to do so would risk grievous bodily harm from Rick McCallum.

I saw you mention your cameo in Episode 3 so I was wondering how mutch screentime do you have in Episode 3??

It's in the seconds rather than minutes.

by rooming with Hayden during filming, were you able to convince him to stop smoking?

I didn't room with Hayden. We lived next door to each other. And I still haven't been able to get him to stop smoking

Don't worry about bodily harm from Rick. I think you could take him.

Have you seen the size of him?

MR.GILLARD are you gonna write a book about your stunt career in the future?

You never know. There's a book in all of us.

We heard George mention in a webdoc that it would be a challenge for you to choreograph a fight in the tight confines of the TF ship. Was it? Were there more than 2 people fighting?

It's always tight, the first time we get to fight on the set is when we're shooting. And yes, there were more than two people.

Why don't they have an Oscar for Best Stunt Coordinator?

You tell me! And when they do, vote for me!

Nick, from the saga so far whose lightsaber is your favorite?

I have my own. It's yellow

For Nick: Why were you and Hayden practicing yesterday at ILM?

Finally, somebody asks! ... I can't tell you.

Do you have to decide on a move based on the character's personality moreso than the actors build or visa versa?

It's really both. It's character, really.

Aside from "The Duel" which fight do you think will be the most memorable?

There's so many of them... but I like the one I can't tell you about.

Does Anakin's fighting style change as his character becomes more and more devoted to the Dark Side?

Most certainly.

Will we finally get to an extended fight where someone wields 2 lightsabers against 1, as it was pruned from AOTC?

I really wish you could have seen the one that was cut out of AOTC.

Are there anymore heads being taken off (like Jango's) in Episode III?

Head's will roll in Episode III

what five words would you use to describe the big fight?

#####, ####, #####, #####, ##

Nick, do you think that episode 3 could possibly have a "PG" rating?

I think it is possible.

Nick can you tell us your Jedi name for Episode 3?

It's my name backwards. Cin Drallig.

Does KIT FISTO go out like a champion?

He goes out like a #####.

Is it possible for someone to wield more than two lightsabers at the same time?

Yes, but it's uncomfortable. You need very special training.

Will Hayden be joining in on this chat or is he stuck in interviews?

He didn't sleep last night, so he's a miserable swine today.

When working at the ranch, are accomodations available there or do you have to commute after a long physical day?

Dude, we rule the Ranch. We're actually staying there right now.

Have you seen any of the star wars fanfilms? If so, what do you think of the choreography in some of the fights?

I LOVE Star Wars kid!

Will we see any Double sabers (like Darth Maul's) In Episode 3?

After a fashion... wink wink, nod nod

I've got to go. Thank you very much for your last minute hospitality. I enjoyed it. And never forget... fear is the pathway...
