Tagged at the very end of a piece entailing Shia LaBeouf’s move to the CAA agency, Deadline Hollywood reports that filming on Transformers 3 will commence in May. The third installment in the “Giant robots that beat the shit outta one another” franchise is set for a July 1, 2011 release.

Eh, whatever. This franchise was never my cup of coffee anyway. I’m sure there are plenty of folks out there (read: the general public) who can’t wait for another one.

My only question is will Michael Bay continue with the racial stereotypes in this third go-around. Revenge of the Fallen had the racist Skids and Mudflap (i.e. jive-talking, can’t read and have gold teeth!) Now all he needs an Oriental robot who’s good at math. Oh and why not a Jewish Transformer who’s stingy with money and drunk-off-his ass Irish Transformer too.
