Director Timur Bekmambetov had confirmed that the sequel to Wanted film is in pre-production stages and will begin filming.

"We want to be ready to shoot in a few months," he said. "James McAvoy will be in the movie."
As for Angelina Jolie's return to the sequel, Bekmambetov said, "We will try to wake up our fox. She is in a bath of wax."

With rumored plans of a third movie following Day Watch and Night Watch, director Timur Bekmambetov does not have any plans at the moment to film Twilight Watch to complete the trilogy.

"I don't think it will happen," he said, who also wrote the scripts for the movies.

Bekmambetov was on the Comic-Con panel to promote the animated film 9.

There are currently rumors that he may have abandoned the project after it was proposed. He declined to further elaborate any further details on the situation.
