Sabrina takes the classic love triangle story and adds a bit more into the mix. Humphrey Bogart and William Holden are the Larrabee brothers and they are about to find out they have something in common for once as they both fall for the same girl. This is a classic social status romantic comedy as the daughter of the family driver returns home and begins to turn heads.
Naturally this is another one of my favorite classic films because not only does it have Hepburn it’s got Bogart (Holdens great as well)! Sabrina proves a point where Audrey is concerned, you see she’s played a royal and she’s played poor and she can do both with little to no effort and make it real. Bogart plays Linus to perfection and watching him melt away his serious side to give into love is one of his finer yet understated performances. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up; I promise this has nothing to do with a certain teenage witch.
As Paramount gear up this new Centennial Collection they are clearly on the right track picking some movies that are just astounding works of film making and showcasing the art of acting. The movies look stunning and these have quite the assembled collection of extras. I cannot wait for the next round Buy It Now: Rating:
