- Trailer Version: Standard Review: Anger Management and Monsters Shouldn't Be This Much Fun...But It Is
Jack Brooks Monster Slayer is one of those movies that are a complete throw back to the 80's latex gorefest set. Part horror movie, part comedy, and part reality show therapy.
Here’s the set up; As a boy Jack (Evan Gilchrist)watch his entire family slaughtered by a monster while they were on the family vacation, now years later even Jack (Trevor Matthews) doesn’t believe what he saw that night and he’s grown into a power keg of anger just waiting for the slightest of sparks. As things go in the world of horror naturally things are about to come back to haunt him and give him focus for that rage of his. A role tailor made for Adam Sandler but without the budget to higher him.
Along the road to controlling his anger issues his night school science teacher (Robert Englund) discovers an evil lurking in his backyard…no not those white dried up dog poops from the 70’s were talking monsters…and not of the CGI variety…were talking men in rubber suits. YAY!! And mayhem and hilarity ensues.
That’s my best pitch, at this point you are either running off to rent or buy it or have clicked away to read something else (hopefully on this site) but let me tell you this; even if you are not a fan of horror movies, but perhaps still enjoy a silly movie among friends than Jack Brooks Monster Slayer could be just what you are looking for on in a hang out and chill flick.
Overall: It ain’t Shakespeare people have a little fun. Buy It Now: Rating:
