- Outtakes Version: Standard Review: This is a tough one; given the cast and having seen the trailer I was expecting a much different type of film. Not bad thing just knocked me for a loop when I neede some goofy giggles.
John C. Reilly is the man when you stop to examine his career, from straight out drama to balls out comedy and even a fair amount of musical numbers. Pretty damn amazing when you realize just how much he’s done and to the degree of variety he’s offered up.
On the other hand you have Seann William Scott who is best known for dumb jock sort of comedy.
Mix these two together and you come out with Seann’s best performance to date and a lopsided one from John.
The movie is enjoyable to watch but it always felt like it couldn’t decide between being a vengeance/screw the other guy comedy or being a tale of two unlike people becoming friends through conflict. It just blurs too much and carries too much weight in scenes where they need a laugh.
Overall: A good movie if you know what to expect. Buy It Now: Rating:
