Mikey Gets To Unleash Hell Early
During Comic Con Day Zero I was able to get some hands on time with The Force Unleashed. I'd been looking forward to the game, it's been a long while for me since I've been able to get thrilled by a new Star Wars game. Sure Battlefront was fun, but it's tame, and Lego Star Wars is awesome to be sure but it's family friendly as well.
I want to get into playing a Jedi or Sith, I want to march into a hanger full of enemies and be feared (ok clearly I'm all Sith) before I even start tearing the room apart.
The designers seem to have exactly that I mind for The Force Unleashed. I started this demo up and just jumped right into being the Sith I always knew I could be.
So far as I can tell there's not much in this game you can't have some effect on. Slash open power cables? Of course. Want to hurl heavy machinery and equipment around the room like a kid having a temper tantrum? Oh yeah baby! Slam Tk-421 into the rest of his pals? Heh heh. Basically anything that floats your boat can be done in this game. You are a super human badass who knows few limits so let it fly.
The look and play of the game is smooth and easy. I literally picked up the controller and just unleashed hell on all sides. It's a game that lets you pick up and go but I can tell with some practice fine tuning those powers it'll get even more rocking.
Looking at the screenshots it's clear the designers give you near limitless power so they have to really throw a lot at you to challenge those powers and skills.
While I didn't get a chance to check out the game on the other platforms available the Ps3 version was lightning fast and ready to roll. I can't imagine much difference in gameplay on the Xbox 360, however the Wii version could be a whole other level of control.
This looks to be everything a Jedi or Sith needs to bring home the Star Wars universe.
Bring it on!
