Review: While the art of a good spoof seems to have been lying dormant for the last decade it has shown a few signs of life from time to time. The first Scary movie was a decently solid spoof, but then came things like Epic Movie, Date Movie, and so on and so on and so forth.
What happened to the great spoofs from my youth? And more importantly why are so few of these spoof-miesters not looking back at what a successful spoof comedy is supposed to be? The good news is Craig teamed up with “The Zucker” a man who knows how it works. While the results are not quite up to par with the Airplanes and Naked Guns of old this is one HUGE step in the right direction over the pop culture reference every 90 seconds bullshit we’ve been getting elsewhere. YAY!!
Ok so just who is this Drake Bell kid? Mind I KNOW who he is but since I have never seen anything he’s ever done I didn’t know what to expect exactly. My worst fear was they would water any of the dirty jokes down to appeal to his younger crowd. Thankfully this is not the case and all the dirty jokes and potty humor are plastered all over this movie. YAY!! As for Drake holy funny shit jokes Batman!! This kid is really genuinely funny!! He has a talent for pratfall and delivery most adults don’t have. With any luck he’ll find a way to later break the kiddie friendly bonds later and have a great career as a Hollywood funny man.
Unlike some other spoofs of late this one won’t require large amounts of booze to enjoy, but an enjoyment of Super Hero movies does help…ok the booze helps too but just as a bonus. Buy It Now: Rating:
