While these are all some really great episodes of the show they have things in common (episode wise) that could make for a strange mixture within the plot of a film. Plus Chris Carter likes to play things loose and on the sly...so who knows what the movie will actually be like.
I had been a fan of the show since I got hooked around the middle of season two and stuck with it all the way until the bitter end. Even the lack luster parts of the series still had moments brighter than most things on TV so I have never really found much reason to do much more than shrug at those and move on.
I wasn't sure I wanted another movie, it had been so long and so many things that get brought back end up being bad news. But as the movie closes in I can help but feel that inner fanboy getting the shivers at the sound of the theme song again.
This a DVD for the causual or newcomer to the X-Files. Hardcore fans probably don't need it and some probably want to go in spoiler free as possible. However this is a great little quick study guide for those that just want some X-files to watch and get in the mood for the new movie.
