5.) Trigon Version: Standard Review: It's been a long strange ride for the kids of Titan Tower. Five seasons of battles and silly stuff, and Henry and I will miss it. The boy actually shed a tear when the last fade out happened. It’s been a part of our regular viewing habits both on TV and DVD, like many boys his age he fantasizes about living in these worlds and assigns the people in his life to the characters on screen. It was so sweet he called me Cyborg and he’s my Beast Boy…I always gushed with parental pride that he picked the pair on the show who were best friends as well as team mates…even though I know he wants to be Robin more. (But thankfully we’ve got loads of Batman and Robin adventures where he gets to live that out as well).
This fifth and final season was quite a bit different from the previous seasons, with Slade gone the arch nemesis void was filled by the Brotherhood of Evil and the Titans are off globe trotting after them while protecting others and setting up the final battle to come. Much of the season is spent team building and exploring origin stories.
I quite enjoyed the flow of this season, sure it was different from the previous efforts but it had more framework and continuity and a big pay off for you at the end. By the time the season closes out the characters have grown and become a much bigger part of the DC universe and you could feel a sense of graduation to it all…they are not kids anymore they are ready and capable for the big leagues.
Sure I’m sad to see it go, but as I told Beast Boy we’ve got 5 DVD + Trouble in Tokyo sitting here anytime we want to take have a great visit at Titan Tower. Can’t ask for more than that really. Buy It Now: Rating:
