Review: It wouldn't be an Indy flick without John Williams would it?

Of course not.

Each of the original Indiana Jones had a unique and distinct sound befitting the adventure, the characters, and locations of the film. Not an easy task scoring for globe trotting adventurers I’d imagine but of course John Williams has a bag full of tricks that can suit anything from attacking a moon size space stations, to Quiddich world champions, aliens eating reese’s pieces, and of course tomb raiding archeologists with fedora hats and bull whips.

The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull blends the tones of the previous Indy scores with new flavor to evoke all the emotion and investment of the characters on screen. To some this point will be lost on, the casual movie score listener could easily pass this off as just another Indy score or just another piece of Williams work. Williams has a very easy to spot finger print, to anyone that’s familiar with his work can hear a track from a score without knowing what it’s for or who’s it’s by and at the very least they’ll be able to spot the finger print of Sir Williams with little to no effort. Not a bad thing mind you it’s just how the man rolls because he’s just that good at writing music for films that feel connected and yet individual.

If you love music and you love your Indy films this is a great score to add to the playlist and relive the adventure in full audio…and the odds are if you are reading this you love the music made for movies already so if you haven’t picked this up…what exactly are you waiting for?
