Review and Codes Await. Get The Most Out Of Playing With Your Wii.
As we push forward into the world of video games here on the site, we will be developing a formatted review and news section for this purpose much like you see here for film and DVD reviews. But sometimes creation takes a backseat to life and laziness on my part. But for first foray into the digital geekz we'll do this old school.
Having played the previous incarnations of Destroy All Humans on the Ps2, I was curious to see how they would take advantage of the Wii's far more interactive controls. I have to admit much like many games on the Wii there is a certain learning curve to it. Keeping the remote angled to get the proper camera angle, re-training my old school video game hand/eye coordination to hone my attacks. Didn't take too long before I was able to really dive in and get those silly humans begging for mercy. But I'm more human than human so finding your skill set may take longer.
The game's story line and beats are not too far different than other outings of the franchise. A new game and a new decade to muck with and make fun of. The humor of course is all still there as you see the silly world of the 70's here on Earth through the eyes of an alien bent on wrecking havoc.
While the game is fun enough all on it's own, the weapons are fun as hell. How can anyone resist grabbing the zombie gun and running amok creating a zombie apocalypse? Took my 7 year old about 2 seconds to succumb to that whimwhich was about 2 seconds longer than I held out. (hint: this is far easier to do with codes..see below)
As a nice addition to the game play they've added a new vehicle for your destructive fun?a moving Big Willy statue that you can climb into and control. I won't spoil the surprise of what kind of weapons Big Willy's packing.
Overall: If you've enjoyed the other games in the series this one is a must. If you've never played them this is a fun little pick up to add to your Wii collection. I'll give this one four out of five death stars.
