Watching this 3 disc, nine episode series with my son was so delightful. It was so nice to watch such a beautiful combination of art, nature and whimsical storytelling. Each story told is first started off by a sumptuous look of the author (Portrayed by Niamh Cusack) painting in the English countryside. It’s an ideal way to see how she could be inspired to write about woodland creatures such as the famous Peter Rabbit.
Most anyone born in the U.K was brought up on these classic children’s stories. I know that as a child opening those little green books small enough for my hands was magical. It was even better to learn years later that was of the authors doing to promote reading for children. Beatrix Potter also had insisted upon printing her illustrations in full color, which was not thought important for children then. Viewing these stories made us want to reread the books all over again. I can’t think of more unique Easter gift for a child or Beatrix Potter fan then this collection.
Though these stories have been released previously on DVD, this is the set you want to pick up. They have never looked or sounded so vibrant or crisp as presented in this set. Buy It Now: Rating:
