Review: How do you spot a blind person at a nude beach? It's not hard.

Ok that's a tasteless joke, I admit it. But since I heard it the first time in grade school I've never forgotten it and thought I'd share it. Now that I've gotten that out of the way...

Blind Dating (AKA: Blind Guy Dating or Blind Guy Driving) is a half baked rom-com; really not much else you can say about it. You can almost hear the concept pitch meeting where this thing was born. A blind guy goes on a bunch of blind dates to find love...WHAM! Money, baby!

I was curious to check this one out; oh, not because I thought it would be a good flick, or even that Anjali Jay would make me drool (and she did). I just wanted to see how the new James T. Kirk did as an actor. Did J.J. pick the wrong dude to sit in the captain’s chair in his re-boot of Star Trek? Have to admit seeing him blind stare through this movie had me feeling some doubt, but as it went on I could see where he might make a good Kirk. He's a good looking kid, he's got some talent and he's very charming....so yeah, ok, I can see this guy seducing some green chicks out in space (lucky bastard!).

Overall this is not a bad little straight to DVD flick, it has its moments of fun, and despite my recent anti Valentines Day mood I didn't find myself checking the running time or wanting a rush ending. Though I fully admit to wondering what female body parts must seem like to a blind person who's never seen them...I'm only human dammit! You have to admit now you are thinking about that now as well.

You could do worse than to pick this for a rental and earn some points with your significant other or just for something to drool over.
