That's right George of the Jungle has gone back to his swinging ways.
Cartoon Network (I heart you) is launching a new series of our old vine swinging, tree smacking pal George. Tonight in point of fact.
The folks over at Cartoon Network sent over a screener disc earlier this week and the boy and I have been checking it out.
Of course what was great about George back in the day is still great today. Its Tarzan meets The Three Stooges slapstick. Oh sure its got a message and a story line but the hook is watching George nearly becoming tree pulp and jungle floor grease spots. It's a boy?s show no doubt there.
But don't take my word for it; I'll let Henry give his review.
Mikey: What is it about George of the Jungle that you like?
Henry: He has like s job.
Mikey: A job? Really?
Henry: Yeah that's what I said.
Mikey: What's his job exactly?
Henry: Saving animals.
Mikey: That's it?
Henry: He does other things you know, like go places.
Mikey: Like where?
Henry: There's a jungle restaurant and stuff.
Mikey: Ok what else does he do?
Henry: Sometimes the animal friends he saves get into more trouble and fight.
Mikey: What else do you like about George?
Henry: Its just funny dad. Sometimes he gets beat up by Panda Bears.
Mikey: Nice.
Henry: Yeah they know Panda Kung-Fu.
Mikey: Anything else?
Henry: Yeah he really sucks at swinging and keeps hitting trees.
Mikey: Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones Henry.
Henry: What's that mean?
Mikey: Nothing, just don't throw rocks...and don't try and swing from trees.
Henry: Dad!
Mikey: Ok fine swing from trees, but wear a helmet.
There you have it right from the point of view of the shows target viewer (a six year old boy).
George of the Jungle premieres tonight on Cartoon Network (check your local listings) at 7:30. Check out the site for fun games, episode schedule, and other fun George of the Jungle stuff.
