Part Mockumentary, part pranks, part plot.....all laughs?
How long has it been since the last SNL character movie? Seriously someone tell me, because I think I've been mentally blocking it out in some vain effort to retain my sanity. Lets be honest; most skit characters are only good in the small doses they are designed for, but for some reason they keep trying to take this formula to the big screen and hope it flies. Sadly though, for every "Blues Brothers" we get 5 "Ladies Man".
Now get happy because while us Americans (and Canadians collectively) Brits over the pond have sent us Sacha Baron Cohen and so far he's two for two in this field of comedy battle.
If you've seen Borat's character on Da Ali G Show, then you have some idea of what you are getting into when you plop down into the theater seats to watch this.
It swiftly makes jumps between being a mockumentary, to having just the right amount of plot, and then goes right back to just screwing with people's heads.
Movies like this and Jackass Number Two defy review and let's be honest, if you are this film's target audience, you are going to see it and any review posted about this movie is just pointless for you to read. So I'll simply tell you that this movie kills on all the silly levels you'd expect, so take a few friends and go get yo chuckle on. Rating:
