Geek City, here we come!

Gear up fanboys & girls, because Sacramento California's Empires Comics Vault is having a five year anniversary party on Feburary 2nd. Empires is a collectible shop that sells everything spanning from comicbooks, action figures, CCG & RPG games, manga, movie posters and much more. If Elvis is 'The King of Rock n' Roll', then Empires owner Ben Schwartz is The King of Geeks! Don't let his cool exterior fool you. This guy is full of knowledge on all things comics, toys, film, games, anime, and, well you know.. GEEKDOM! Sure, one cannot know all the vast secrets of the universe, so that's why he has a troupe of employees and customers willing to help you in your search for your own holy grail of collectibles.
 
If Empires doesn't have in stock what you are looking for, they will do their best to order through their arsenal of distributors & connections. There are several tables & chairs set up for gaming during all store hours. Games like Heroclix, Versus, and Magic The Gathering are played regularly. There are always great films playing non-stop on multiple T.V.s across the shop.
 
I cannot tell you how rare it is to get nice customer service these days. For all you ladies out there, do you get tired of walking into a collectible shop and having the employees act like you don't know anything about geekdom? Do comments like 'Can I help you find something for your boyfriend?' really get you pissed off? Well, don't expect that at Empires. It is a female friendly store.
 
Empires puts the fun back into collecting! With its multiple store functions, you get to connect with others that have the same interests. Super sales and special guests are a plenty at Empires. So here's the next BIG event I was talking about:

Mark Bode: Writer/Artist of such comics as Cobalt 60, The Lizard of Oz, Miami Mice, Heavy Metal Magazine and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Bode's Cobalt 60 has been optioned for film by Director Zach Snider (Frank Miller's 300,Dawn of the Dead Remake,Watchmen). Bode is also a respected Tattoo & Graffiti Artist. Bode will be having a World Premiere of his new Bode Babe Vinyl Toy! Released to the public, the first and only Bode Broad Vinyl Toy straight off the boat to the Vault!
