Warner Home Video will be releasing a special edition of George Lucas' classic THX-1138 later this year. The new release will apparently be rated R by the MPAA and will also bear a new title, THX-1138: The George Lucas Director's Cut.

John D. Lowry worked with Jim Ward and Warner Bros. to restore the film. Ward said of him, "After we saw what he could do with Indiana Jones, we definitely wanted him back in the queue.”
