Exclusive Video Interview: Tom DeSanto On Transformers

There is no doubt that Tom DeSanto is a fanboy and he wears he geekdom with pride. After all, thanks in part to him comic book fans from all over the world have enjoyed one of the greatest movie franchises of all time, X-Men.

Tom was on hand at the 32nd Annual Saturn Awards to support Ringers: Lord of the Fans which was written and directed by Carlene Cordova and co-written by Cliff Broadway which is now available on DVD.

Considering that Tom is also one of the producers behind the highly anticipated live action Transformers movie, we wanted to get his input on the film and his personal thoughts on having the original voice over actors come back and reprise their roles.

Something that must sound like a God-send to the original fans, Tom goes on record supporting Frank Welker and Peter Cullen for the roles of Optimus and Megatron.

So Don Murphy has an ally in his quest to stay true and loyal to the fans of this franchise who have kept it going for over two decades.

DeSanto also talked about the current version of Battlestar Galactica and how his and Bryan Singer would've done it different. Interestingly enough, both visions shared similarities such as a female president, human cylons and the decommissioning of Galactica.
