Exclusive Video and Photo Coverage: World Premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest Plus A First Look At The Newly Revamped Ride!

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest had it's World Premiere this past Saturday at Disneyland in sunny Southern California . The IESB along with another 200 plus news outlets where there to bring you the festivities of the day.

We here at the IESB have been covering red carpet premieres for three years and I have got to tell you that this is the biggest premiere I have ever seen. This was bigger than most award shows that take place in Hollywood .

Besides the expected stars of film, the Disney park guests were treated to the likes of Pat Reilly, Cal Ripken Jr., Marilyn Manson, Ozzie Smith, Michael Rosenbaum, Roseanne Barr, Governor S chwarzenegger, Michael Rosenbaum, every Disney channel child actor under the sun, Jon Voight, James Cameron, Tony Shaloub, Holly Robinson Peete, Mark Hoppus from Blink 182, Channing Tatum, and many, many more.

Here is a quick rundown of our day at Disneyland . We arrived at the park about 12:00PM because I thought I read that “press check in” was at 12:30PM and I assumed that arrivals were around 3:00PM, I was wrong. Arrivals started at 5:30PM and ended at 9:30PM so needless to say that we did a quick run of the park that included a ride on the Endor Express (Star Tours).

On a side note, Disney hospitality was incredible, granted all the news outlets are promoting their park and the new movie but the way they took care of the media was amazing, from a great air conditioned media room that was located at the Lincoln Theater, to all the food and drinks that we could ever need, to cool pirate Mickey Mouse ears, this is the best that I have seen the media treated at any non-junket press event.

So by the time that we actually started getting to our spots on the red carpet it was around 3:30 but before we got to work Disney was gracious to let the press be one of the first groups of people to try out the newly revamped Pirates of the Caribbean ride and boy is it different.

Here is quick rundown of what we noticed. You might remember from the last time that you rode was that weird, moldy, dusty smell, well, it's gone. The entire ride has had a complete cleaning and dusting that included draining of all the water, about time.

Remember all the gold coins, jewels, swords and all sorts of booty that were scattered throughout the ride that you would always try to reach and take for yourself? It's all been cleaned, dusted and shined. And in keeping with inflation, they added a hefty 400,000 dabloons.

So the entrance to ride remains the same, the boats that take us to our trip are the same, the bayou and the old man smoking his pipe haven't changed. But the audio is amazing. Do you remember how hard it was to hear the Skull and Crossbones as it warned you about the trip ahead? Not anymore, the warning is clear as day:

Psst! Avast there! It be too late to alter course, mateys. And there be plundering pirates lurkin' in ev'ry cove, waitin' to board. Sit closer together and keep your ruddy hands in board. That be the best way to repel boarders. And mark well me words, mateys: Dead men tell no tales! Ye come seekin' adventure with salty old pirates, eh? Sure you've come to the proper place. But keep a weather eye open mates, and hold on tight. With both hands, if you please. Thar be squalls ahead, and Davy Jones waiting for them that don't obey.

While the warning message has always mentioned Davy Jones, we finally see the seafaring villain with a very cool and state of the art fog and projection system. Very cool indeed!

And what every Johhny Depp fan has been waiting for, Captain Jack Sparrow makes three appearances in this new version of the ride plus we get to hear our beloved Pirate talk as well.

But those are not the only things that have changed, Captain Barbosa is now aboard the Wicked Wench and music from the movie has made onto the ride.
