Last week on the Eve of their Latest Release "The Bedlam in Goliath" Psychedelic Rockers The Mars Volta played a one off show for the fans at the UCI Bren Events Center!

After sitting in a one-lane line of cars for what seemed like eternity. I finally made it to the parking structure at the Bren Events Center in Irvine.  Marching in time with hundreds of longhaired, tight pants wearing indie rockers, we made our way to the box office.  The wait was long and security was thorough, but eventually we all ended up inside.  By the time I arrived The Mars Volta had already taken the stage, with the rumbling of the drums and wailing guitars, Cedric (vocals) danced around vigorously almost reminiscent of Scott Weiland in STP.  Having been a long time fan, yet someone who had never seen them live, I knew I was in for a treat.

The Mars Volta surely didn't disappoint the crowd that night.  Rocking for over 2 hours to a sold out stadium, Playing all the favorites, as well as some new tracks off their latest album, "The Bedlam in Goliath" which came out the night before.   Never slowing down for a minute The Mars Volta bombarded the crowd's senses both visually and aurally.

If you haven't had the opportunity to see these guys live I highly recommend it!  They are going to be starting a European tour middle of Feb, and I'm sure they will be back in the states soon enough to Rock their new Album across America!
